Pro was founded in 1988 by Pete Grimmer, an engineer from Purdue University. Pete worked with Purdue's Strength Coach to design the first line of Pro Power Strength Training Equipment.

Pete introduced the first lines of equipment to strength coaches from the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts. While working with these NFL Teams to equip their Weight Training Facilities, the strength equipment was branded "Pro Power".

From 1988 to 1995 Pro Power grew its brand name by setting up high school, college and professional team weight rooms. Chris Lynch came onboard as head of manufacturing and sales in 1995. Two years later Shawn Taylor was hired to head up sales to parks and rec departments, police, fire, YMCA's and personal training facilities while Chris focused on development and manufacturing. Shawn also managed all delivery, service and installations.

From 1997 to 2001, Pete, Chris and Shawn worked to build Pro Industries into a National Supplier of Commercial Fitness Equipment.

Chris bought Pro Industries in 2001 and Shawn took over as National Sales Manager.

Since that time Pro Industries has been working to expand the company nationwide. Some highlights include; Setting up High Schools in New Jersey, Texas, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, California and Florida, colleges in Indiana, Delaware, West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida and professional teams in Indiana, Illinois, Arizona and California.
